My planners worked all morning on Thursday's stock figures without knowing it. We over-ordered on about forty lines. The monitoring alerted Kwame, who is on holiday. Nobody else was watching. I raised the cover question with you in January and I was told it would be handled. Lena, You did raise it and I did not close it. That is on me. Tomas is covering from now until Kwame returns on the 24th. His number is in the runbook and I will send it separately. I will have a named second person on the runbook permanently by the end of next week. Technical note so this is on the record properly. 6 March: middleware failure on DC-2. This is the known issue from the April 2024 assessment. 14 March: not the middleware. The job ran and moved three files, one of which was empty because an upstream export had not completed. Job reported success. These are two different failure modes. Please do not let them be merged into one line in the incident log, because the fixes are different. The second one is a file size check and I can do it this week. dc2-march-impact — The 14 March failure meant planners worked all morning on stale stock and about forty lines were over-ordered; two store managers told their regional manager the system did not work, and planners in two pilot stores went back to their own spreadsheets from 15 March.
dc2-cover-gap — The DC-2 cover gap: Kwame Boateng was the only person watching the feed and was on holiday 10–24 March 2025; the monitoring fired at him in Portugal. Ana Duarte acknowledged she raised the cover question in January and did not close it.
dc2-march-2025-failures — Two DC-2 failures in March 2025 were two different failure modes: 6 March the known middleware issue; 14 March an empty file — the job ran, moved three files, one empty because an upstream export had not finished, and reported success. Priya Nair asked that they never be merged into one line in the incident log because the fixes differ.
ext-feeds-distinct — The nightly article extract (master data from SAP) is not the DC-2 stock feed; the same weekly update can report one clean and the other failing, and Priya Nair asked in March 2025 that the two failure modes never be merged into one line.
dc2-filesize-check — A file-size check was added the week after the 14 March failure: any file under 1KB now fails the job loudly. Since then the archive records no silent failures — four loud ones by December 2025.
